The Difference between PVC and PP Materials

The difference between PVC and PP:

1. PP is an environmentally friendly material. It is a thermoplastic resin made from the polymerization of propylene. PVC material is polyvinyl chloride. It is one of the most produced plastic products in the world. It is cheap and widely used.

2. the difference between PP and PVC can be clearly distinguished in terms of appearance and feel. PP feels harder, while PVC is relatively soft.
The best way to test is to burn these two materials with an open flame. The black dust-like material is PVC, while PP does not. It can also be distinguished from the smell. PVC has a pungent smell, while PP is odorless.

PP board and PVC board are both chemical polymers. PP is polypropylene and PVC is polyvinyl chloride.

1. Color difference:

PP materials cannot be made transparent. Commonly used colors are primary color (natural color of PP material), beige gray, porcelain white, milky white, etc. PVC has rich colors, generally including gray, light gray, white, yellow-white, transparent, etc.

2. Weight difference:

The density of PP board is smaller than that of PVC board, and the density of PVC is higher, so PVC is heavier.

3. Acid and alkali resistance:

PVC has better acid and alkali resistance than PP board, but its texture is brittle and hard, resistant to ultraviolet radiation, can withstand climate change for a long time, and is not flammable.

4. Temperature difference:

A. The temperature range of PP made in China is about 0 to 80 degrees Celsius, the temperature range of PVC is 0 to 60 degrees Celsius, and the temperature range of CPVC is -40 to 95 degrees Celsius.

5. Application scope:

A. PP boards are mainly used in acid and alkali-resistant equipment, environmental protection equipment, wastewater and exhaust gas emission equipment, scrubbers, clean rooms, semiconductor factories, and related industrial equipment.

B. PVC boards are mainly used in many industries such as building materials, packaging, and medicine. For example, construction, electroplating equipment, acid and alkali-resistant equipment, industrial sewage equipment, chemical industry, etc.
